Emily Irene VanCamp was originally interested in becoming a dancer, but following a trip to Katie's set in the Ladies Room, she became more inclined to act. The actress began taking acting classes and simultaneously landed guest spots on TV series in her homeland Canada. Her appearances have been in a number of series, such as Are You afraid of The Dark? Radio Active and Dice. VanCamp's professional career began to take off when his role as Sam Dolan, a regular in the series WB Horror Mystery Glory Days. Though receiving positive reviews the series' low ratings ultimately led to it having to be canceled after only nine episodes. However, she was successful in securing another role as Amy Abbott on Everwood. Her performance resulted in her being nominated for the Young Artist Award nominee and for four Teen Choice Awards.
